Flow Analysis

The Flow Analysis offers a highly interactive user experience, enabling intuitive exploration of complex relationships within hierarchical or flow-based data. Users can apply filters both single and multiple selections to focus on specific elements such as domains, learning outcomes, or assessment types. These filters dynamically update the visualization in real time, allowing users to isolate and analyze targeted pathways within the curriculum flow.

Additionally, users can interact with the chart through zooming and panning features, which facilitate closer inspection of dense or overlapping nodes and links. Hovering over nodes or connections displays detailed tooltips with contextual information, such as source-target relationships and contribution values.

The toolbar also includes options such as the home button to reset the view, zoom controls for precision navigation, and a camera icon to export the current diagram as a high-quality static image. This combination of filtering, interactive exploration, and export functionality makes this a powerful tool for uncovering insights in curriculum mapping and similar structured datasets.

The following questions can be answered from the interactive analysis:

How the curriculum is delivered step by step: What is taught, when, and how it is assessed? How learning ties into domains and PLOs: Why it is taught, and which competencies/outcomes it serves? What is the quantitative measure of robustness of the Curriculum or Curriculum Robustness Index (CRI) per PLO?
